Question How does the AWD work?

hey it been snowing and i was wondering how to turn on the all wheel drive setting i was pushing the button while i was driving and it wasnt turning on......ahha sorry if its a dumb question i only had my rl for less than a month thanks for the help!!!!! yeah and Im pretty sure im gonna get a lot of smart comments about reading the manual but im just looking for a quick answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Try reading the owners manual, it should be in what is called the glove box.

Because the RL is typically a Front Wheel Drive, my dealer said I had to purchase 2 additional front tires and place them on the rear in order to get All Wheel Drive. Did I get suckered?

As an actual answer to your question...

You don't have to do anything in normal circumstances for 4 wheel drive to engage. The ridge is fwd first and then activates in 4wd once it senses slippage. If you actually do manage to get stuck, shift in to 1 or 2, then push the VTM-4 button. You will get your best traction. If that doesn't do it on its own, disable the VSA. Remember that once you shift out of 1st or 2nd in to reverse (in case you need to rock her out), you will have to re-engage the vtm every time.
