So the poll numbers currently show that nearly 40% of the Ridgeline audience would be interested in a Gen 2 performance edition (15 extremely interested = 22.39%, 11 somewhat interested = 16.42%). That's a pretty healthy interest level, perhaps Honda will sit up and pay attention. It would be a cheap and easy variant to build from the baseline Ridge Gen 2.
Based on this thread Honda should offer 2 variants to the baseline Ridge.
1) Offroad Performance Version - similar to the TRD line of Tacos. Offer a lifted suspension, skid plates, stouter bumpers, granny gear for low-speed hill descent etc,, off-road tires and wheels, mounts for light bars etc. Make a Honda offroad motorsports edition, call it the Elsinore and provide a red/white paint scheme and accessories to make carrying and using Honda motorcycles/ATVs easier (ramps, bed mounts, tie downs, steps)
2) Street Performance Edition - Ridgeline Si. Offer a slightly lowered suspension, performance exhaust with nice growl, MO' POWER (300+ hp), street-tuned tires and wheels, paddle shifters, sporty seats and interior badging, PREMIUM AUDIO, and the ability to turn off VCM by selecting a Sport Mode. Finally, offer a 6-speed manual transmission and Jesus will prepare a special place for you in Heaven, amen.
Would also like to see the return of air shocks or small air bags to the street variant, for those times when you might need to carry a bit of weight in the bed. They worked quite well on the El Caminos and Rancheros....
