I'm getting frustrated with all these links to Twitter, Myspace, and Facebook which are blocked by our firewall at work. By the time I get home, I'm usually busy doing other things and don't have as much time to get on the ROC. Wow. Typing that out and re-reading it just made me realize a few things.
In the real world a sick/log that size will smash nicely into the undercarriage of your Ridgeline.
Example. This sick smashed into the bottom of my truck when I tried going over it. As soon as I saw it in the trail I looked at my son & he looked at me. He said are you going to move it so we don't flip. I told him I got this, it's an easy clear. As we are going over it, bam. He just laughed. There was just enough change for my RL to bottomin out on the sick. It's so slight it's hard to see the change in the pic.
A story from long ago was how someone had bought a Camaro where the roof had been cut off to turn it into a convertible (before GM offered that style). The driver parked with one wheel on a speedbump and was trapped inside because the door bound up and wouldn't open.
wow. They are taken at the event in texas?
edit
Ok this image of the hitch and location does not lend itself to the rumors of 6000 or more lbs towing...in fact, 5000lbs looks iffy.

I saw a close-up of the hitch receiver in a video from one of the auto shows, and I was shocked at how skimpy it looked. I chalked it up to pre-production. I sure hope they've beefed it up.
As for the 6K rumors -- those are dead. The 5K lbs towing capacity has been confirmed in writing as the hard spec for the new RL. There is no longer any question or any reason to hold out hope for more in the final production vehicles. 5K it is.
Last few months after washin the truck I think Im gettin the body wrinkles. Hows the posting pics goin I havent done it for some time. Its really mild and dont think it will show in a pic but its there. And I dont really care, still does what I ask her to.
How do you figure that? The Ridge has longer wheel base and an entirely different rear body. It also has a payload capacity of 1600lbs. I can't see how the rear suspension could be identical to the Pilot. . . .Springs and shocks will almost certainly be different spec. Control arms etc might be different too.
Guys, I realized we were way off-track discussing tow capacity in this thread. So I copied/pasted some of our discussion over into an already existing thread on tow capacity:
I 4wheel my gen1 no problem I have cooper AT3s and they are awesome mud rocks snow goes right along. SO ...If they put good rubber on the Gen2 should perform the same.
They had a Tacoma and a Colorado for reviewers to comparison drive at the Press Event in San Antonio. Of course the Ridgeline rode much nicer and did just fine towing all sorts of toys right up to the 4800 lb bass boat trailer. And the RL easily "conquered" the off-road course that Honda set up. In the real world, midsize pickup buyers are not quite so rational and Honda may have some trouble drawing them in. But I think shoppers wanting a comfortable, roomy, daily driver SUV-like vehicle with the added utility of an open bed will be interested. Will it be enough to keep the Ridge around for a third generation? Guess we'll see.
