Re: Sun Visors

Okay, I installed the 2007 driver's side sunvisor on a 2006 RL. Install was very easy. Total time was about 30 minutes (took me 10 minutes to fish the wire). I do apologize that I did not take any pictures but the install on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the easiest), I would rate it as a 9. The most important thing is to isolate the correct wires (only need to tap 2) and from there it's really easy. First, order the sunvisor. Here is the part number from the invoice I received: 83280-SJC-A11ZB (the color I picked matched my Silver RL). My guess is a different interior color will be a different part number. Once you get the part you will notice that pivot end of the visor, there is a 2 PIN connector. Of course our 2006 RL does not have the female end to match the male end so, you will need to run some wires and carefully disassemble the connector. The two male ends are attached to the connector by tabs which are easily released by a jeweler's type tool (something small and pointy will do). I then extended the wires by about 2.5' using 22 gauge wire. I soldered the wires just because. Okay now the tricky part. Before putting in the new visor, we need to isolate the correct wires to tap. So, remove the above maplight unit (there are directions on how to do this all over this forum). I have a RTL with S/R no Navi and in my RL has two connectors a green one and a grey one. You wan to tap into two wires on the green connector. Tap the Black to the Black wire of the visor and white/blue to the blue wire of the visor. Once this is done, test your connections and put everything back and you are done. Hope this helps. Enjoy. Sorry again...no pictures.
