Safety team comes prepared [9.1.7]

Quote:
Perhaps the most important tool the team has is its vehicles. Although normal looking on the outside, three Honda Ridgeline safety trucks are equipped to tow a car, spread oil-dry solution to a spill, restart a stalled engine, put out a fire or mobilize an injured person.

With a tow rope on back, a fire hose on front, a bed filled with track cleaning tools, firefighting equipment (70 gallons of water and cold-fire mixture) and emergency hydraulic equipment, the vehicle's exterior is packed for all jobs. And the interior is high-tech.

Delphi has filled the trucks with enough gadgets to rival the Batmobile. There are cameras at the rear and front that record every action the crew performs.

Re: Safety team comes prepared [9.1.7]

A light on the dash indicates when a caution is out, a switch drops oil-dry on spills and operates a blower to clean the track, and satellite televisions in the sun visors allow crew members to see all the action inside the vehicle.

Now we know what the "mystery switch blank" on the center dash can be used for! Pity the article had no photos...
