Another G2 Review

Found this on Jalopnik - a little different take but nothing we haven't all heard before.

Re: Another G2 Review

Exact same crap was said about Gen 1, believe me, but it was a lot worse due to the looks. This one, just fix or replace the head unit, everyone complains about it, and not just in this truck, in every Honda they put it in. They are supposedly changing it in every MY 18 Honda. Good riddance.

I wonder if the supposed updated unit in the 2018s will be interchangeable with the current head unit.

Probably not.

Re: Another G2 Review

If the 18 isn't available for the RL there are some nice aftermarket units at Best Buy. (was looking at them last night)

Weird?!?, my last two vehicles, besides the Tesla Model S I have now, were a Chevy Volt and a Saab 9-3. You don't know weird unless you had a Saab, or old VW or some other vehicle like that.

also: Truxedo Lo Pro tonneau / Llumar ceramic window tint / Opticoat Pro nano coating

Generally into EVs - Last 3 vehicles have been Tesla Model S (current car), Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf. Wife has 2004 Saab 9-5 wagon (looking to replace).

Would everything (Navi, Reverse camera, vehicle settings, internet, etc etc) still be usable if replaced with the ones you were looking at?

Don't know about the internet and vehicle specific features, but the other features yes according to the sales guy.

Cool Re: Another G2 Review

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Here's mine....

1.) If you don't like the radio, try a different trim level. That's precisely why they make them.
.
2.) If the spare tire is such a problem, put it in the bed, or ... have a spare, "spare" tire that you keep in the garage, and can occasionally toss in the bed for mulch hauling, etc.
.
3.) Finally, if the reviewer can't seem to feel right about himself because the truck doesn't feel "truckie" enough .... he may simply need VIAGRA ...

.
.
Carsmak, FTM1, Mr. Black and 4 others like this.

We may have all gotten here on different ships, but, we're all in the same boat now.

What is wrong with the ridgeline head unit? It can't be worse than Lexus interface

I have to agree. I think the head unit is fine.

The only thing I've found that's a bit of a pain is when you have to tune to find a station. For that function, I wish there was a knob. For me, once I set all the stations I listen to, it'll be a very rare occasion for me to search for another station again.

I've also gotten around the 'finger print' issue. I set the screen sensitivity to it's highest setting. Now I can use the tip of my fingernail or I also have a stylus to select functions. Using my finger nail or the stylus is becoming rare because at least 90% of the functions I use can be accessed on the steering wheel controls.
