Less than 24 hours and a dent already!!!

Guys i need some help i'm young and don't know how to handle this. Or what route i should take.
heres the story. Yesterdy i picked up my RL and drove straight to my apartment where (you see in the pictures In the other post) it sat for about an hour before dinner. They had valet parking at dinner we left and i came home and parked next to a blue vehicle that i normally park next to(backed in). This morning got up drove to work and it sat next to my best friends red explorer all day. Came out from work(i get to work at 5 in the morn) and notice what i thought was bird crap on the driver side fender right below the fuel door. Upon closer inspection its white paint and a nice little dent in my freakin 24 HOUR OLD TRUCK!. There is literally no place that i have gone that this could have happen i have witnesses to all the vehicles that parked next to me in this time frame.
So i called the restaurantand was civil i told him the situation and he got my name and number and toldme that the valet was contract and that they would be calling me.
What do you guys think is going to happen. ther will definatly be some ass chewing on my part. But are any of you guys lawyers that can tell me what i might be able to expect. Any personal experience with valet parking that turned out GOOD for you. please guys help me out. i'm begging you.

sorry. I hate stuff like that. I am not a fan of valet parking as for the most part, these people are not super-careful as they are not driving their own car.

Do you have a beef with them? yes.
Will you get anything from them? I hope so, but doubt it. I do bet they claim that the mark/ding was there beforehand.
.... I certainly hope that they step up and take care of you!

I would save the azzchewing until you are getting the feeling that they are not open to helping you. (...the whole honey/vinegar thing applies here). Also a great idea to say how happy you have been with their valet service in the past (lie if you have to) and have never heard of any of your friends having anything like this happen.

First, try to relax a little and be thankful it wasn't a side swipe. Second, paintless dent repair can result in an amazing fix for relatively little money. See if the valet service is willing to pay for a paintless repair. If you need to find a paintless dent removal service, call your dealers service department. The service manager should be able to provide a name or two.

Re: less then 24 hours and a dent already!!!

your right man i do need to calm down about it and have. It was just the fact that i hadn't owned the vehicle 3 hours and that crap happened. The restaurant did say if there was anything they could do to let them know. so maybe i'll get a free dinner out of it or something who knows. It's just my luck. I think the good lord was just setting me down saying hey hey don't get to egotistical.

It's a dent. Get over it. In fact, be thankful. Now you don't have to worry anymore about the first one. There will be more.

Re: less then 24 hours and a dent already!!!

That stinks....
For starters, this dent may be small enough to be fixed easily. Not sure what advice I can give at this point other than advice going forward...

If you look around these forums, which I know you have, I think you'll see that some of us don;t even let our spouses touch our trucks, let alone a valet service. You also mention parking next to other vehicles. Taboo my friend. No matter how far you must walk, you park as far away as you can. Following these simple laws going forward will not only lessen your chances of dents and dings but this behavior will inch you one step closer to becoming a true ROC junkie...

Hope it all works out. Stay calm and know your ROC friends got your back!!
theLine is right when he says, "Now you don't have to worry anymore about the first one." You have no idea how right he is...
May the Force be with you Goose!!

Re: less then 24 hours and a dent already!!!

In July 2005, three days after buying my new ridgeline, my son's friend got too close to my right front fender with his bicycle handlebars, resulting in an 18" scratch along the upper portion of the fender. My wife said we need to get that fixed and, while I was really bummed out, I told her that I will just touch it up...after all, I won't have to worry about the first one now will I? So, point is, you can't see the scratch from 10 feet away and if you do it is sorta like a scar...gives it character

Re: less then 24 hours and a dent already!!!

Hey, don't feel too bad! I bought an Odyssey and within 48 hours I put $3500 damage on it by, yes, it was entirely my fault, "sideswiping" the sloped concrete wall of an underground parking garage exit. I couldn't see the end of the wall and turned too soon.

Oh, did I mention it was my wife's vehicle, and I had driven it to work because it was so new and she had to park in "dangerous" retail lot where she worked, so my parking would be SAFER for such a new car?

Within a few days of having it back good as new, someone put a foot-long horizontal dent in the driver's fender while at the mall.
