Re: New RTL Owner

Welcome to ROC. You will really enjoy your New Ridgeline. We are going into
31 months now and have had no problems.

P.S. I like your color choice. I didnot remember it being that pretty in March 05
when we choose Silver.

Talking Re: New RTL Owner

I will get my '07 RTL & Navi & moonroof delivered tomorrow.
Question on the running boards: Can a non honda dealer install them? I heard about a special tool needed for these.

Cheers!

I had lunch with, "VoicesInMyHead" yesterday. He installed running boards on his 07 himself - said it was real easy. They looked great! I'm sure he'll chime in here to let you know how easy it was. He didn't mention any special tool. Good luck! Welcome aboard.

Well, yes and no, kinda sorta. Clear?

Actually, I installed Westin Tube Steps (Mine are Black), not running boards. Just a personal preference of the step tube vs. the running board. You don't specify if you are talking about OEM or after-market... but the Westin's I added bolted right on. I had to remove some plastic plugs that were covering up the bolt holes, but it was a simple install.

Pop the plugs
Bolt on 3 brackets to each side
Bolt tube step to the brackets
Have a Mountain Dew!

The only 'special' tool (if you want to call it that), was a torque wrench. Didn't even have to jack the truck up - plenty of room to work - and Bruce can testify, I'm not a skinny dude.

I added them First for my 4 year old daughter (oops, she turned 5 on the 19th). The fact that I wanted them, and would have added them anyway, was just a coincidence... yup... seriously... really.

I had my done by a local body shop. There is also a thread ($1.87 tool....) that shows how to install. Just do a search and put in the aforementioned information.

Good Luck.

Thanks guys,

I did look at the Westin products and like them a lot. Anyhow, the help is appreciated. Great forum.
