Console Lighting

I've noticed it at night in the Odyssey, but it seems to do nothing in the RL that I can tell. I see it is on, but I cannot see/notice where it is aimed.

Is this the red RED light by the homlink on the overhead console? Mine must be aimed wrong because all it does is shine in the rear view mirror at night, causing glare. I read in the OM that particular light also lets you know that the running lights are on. I can see when the running lights are on without that little red light.

Why didn't Honda add an aux input to the radio instead of taht dumb llittle red light?

Mine is a gold light. The only time any button illuminates red is when I press the homelink button.

Where are you seeing a red light?

Its a gold light.

The console lighting is amber in color and is located near the Homelink console. It lights the center console very well when the dash lights are turned up. I first noticed the effectiveness when driving in the Colorado mountains at night. The LED lit up the console well enough for me to tell what brand of cola I was drinking.

There is a small light, seen only at night when the lights are on, from the panel with the map lights in the overhead. It shines down on the cup holder area. Very subtle. Very small light.
