Re: What am i looking for..? Softer bumps..help

Wow I was a little surprised by this post. Every person that has had the pleasure of a ride in my Ridgeline has commented on the ride. Several have equated it to better than their luxury cars. That being said I think there has to be some issue with over inflated tires. No way a Dodge rides better than the Ridgeline.

I guess I better check our tire pressure too because our one month old Ridge definetly has a firm ride, I just assumed it was normal because it is a truck afterall, but if folks are saying their ride is better than a luxury cars than something is wrong with mine.

I never equated the ride qualities of my RL to be better than a luxury car, but I have described it as being car like. It impresses me because for being a truck it rides much better than the Olds Bravada it replaced.

For me the ride was noticeably harder when the tires had over 40+ psi.

Yes check your tire pressure all when tires are cold. The 35-36 PSI is I think the best for the Ridgeline. Living in Fla when summer time Temps get hotter you might wan't to go with 34-35 PSI. When I checked one time on the Ridgeline after service it was 38 PSI in the tires. Also as said everybody that rides in the Ridgeline always says how good it rides. In a few weeks we will have had the Ridgeline a full year.We put alot of highway miles on it last spring & summer so everything got broke in well. It was a great change in the ride of Ridgeline from the time I first met PizzaMan at the Altoona Central Pa Meet in May 07. The truck only had about 3,000 miles on it then. When I went to the St. Louis National Meet in August 07. The truck had over 10,000 miles on it so everything was broke-in or just about broke-in when I got back from that almost 2,000 mile trip. The suspension & tires I know were broke-in it was a pretty good ride.

Re: What am i looking for..? Softer bumps..help

Howdy All...

I just turned over 20,000 miles on my RTS.. (Bought it the day after Labor Day 07 new)... I use this truck for business so I carry loads and tow trailers with it all the time... I believe the ride characteristics described here are not tire related, but are because Honda had to "beef up" the suspension and underpinnings so that it could be rated as a 'Half Ton Pickup"...

Believe me it will handle half-ton loads and pull 5,000 pounds, no problem...

But what you have to realize is that it is pretty "stiff" without a load on it...

Put 500 pounds in the back it rides very smoothly.......

I love this vehicle... I'm in it 20 hours a week... I travel all over Washington, Oregon and Idaho, some of it on Powerline right-of-ways... So I put it to a real test with snow, mountain passes and dirt roads...

For 10 years I had Ford F-150s, 250's and Rangers supplied by my company, and I wouldn't trade this Ridgeline ride for all the tea in China...

You just have to realize it is a TRUCK... an extremely comfortable, beautifully handling, stiff suspension TRUCK...

Take Care .... Dave
