Question Ready to pull the trigger on 07 RTL @ $2600 off MSRP what do you guys think?

My first post and I'm ready to pull the trigger on a RTL with Navi Nimbus Gray. The total cost with the following options INSTALLED: ipod link, Tow package, running boards, side protectors, Auto Dim mirror, Fog lights, Roof Rack, front grille, came to $36,397 delivered. (This broker will even deliver the car to my front door)

What do you guys think about the deal? I think its pretty fair, approx. 7% off MSRP. (Plus I don't have to deal with dealers, this broker does all the negotiating)

Any other options I should add?

Thanks in advance.

Thats a pretty good price but i think you might be able to do better. I got the
dealership to take off $3500 off of my stock RTL (no navi).

Paid 31999 for rtl with navi and moon roof. no accessories. Added auto dim mirror and backup camera myself. 06 in December, two days before announcment about truck of the year. Zero problems with this truck. Still love this machine.

Best advise I've seen here (and I used it too) - get internet quotes first! Landed my RTL SR Navi for $30,249 and others here have done much better. Negotiate extras AFTER you have best price on the truck.

Re: Ready to pull the trigger on 07 RTL @ $2600 off MSRP what do you guys think?

I purchased a Taffeta white, 2006 RTL with Navi and a couple of accessories, on June 12th. The window sticker price was $35,989. I paid $31,000. If I would have waited for a 2007, it would have cost me about $34,000 (according to the dealer). The only advantage I would have gained waiting for a 2007, is choosing the color.

One of the accessories was cow spots. I haven't put them on, as I can't decide between the black (Holstein) or Brown (Guernsey) spots.

Re: Ready to pull the trigger on 07 RTL @ $2600 off MSRP what do you guys think?

The thing to remember when considering prices is how the truck was received by the public initially. Not well. One of the fine sponsors of this board was offering 1400 below invoice in November of last year on 2006 models. There is a 2000 dollar cash to dealer incentive on sales of all remaining 2006 units in inventory running until July 5. You can get a 2006 Navi for between 29134 (or less) and 30000. Cars Direct will get you a 2006 RTL with Nav for 30134 in my zip in Southern California, and they pad their sales by 500 bucks so I hear.

But nobody knows what is going to happen with the truck in the market in 2007.

I think everyone is holding their breath.

I just bought an 07 today. The dealer offered the vehicle itself for 32500 on a list of 35490. That was over the phone, not a bit of discussion. I did not quibble over it one bit. I need a truck and I wanted the one I bought. To tell the truth, the only hassle I have had in my Ridgeline Illiad has been either getting the options I want installed or tossed into the back of the truck for me to do myself. That was a flipping chore. Dealers have put the parts departments and the service departments and the sales departments at odds with each other by making profit centers out of each and hiding the big picture P&L from everybody but the annoying managers.

If you are in a hurry and want cheap, get an 06 now. Good luck finding your color unless it is white, black, or silver. They got some deals going. If you want an 07, shoot for 3k off list. I got it offered to me without effort. If you can wait, all the better, but watch the market. Honda has cut production, and if demand picks up, then I got a good deal. If the unwashed masses continue to dislike the vehicle in droves, then I will take a sponge-bath on both the sale price and the resale of the vehicle later. No big deal. I'll just keep it and drive it. It drives great. This truck is a worthy, well-engineered, well-thought-out, gem. The market may say what it will, but I got a truck with a Honda motor that runs like a sewing machine and is more comfortable and quiet than any truck I have ever driven.

Best of luck to you in your search.
Scott

Is the ipod interface in the 07 any better than the current one? If not - I wouldn't buy it since the consensus here seems to be that it is a POS.

axesbowledaslove, what options did you get? I plan on shopping this weekend for a dark cherry pearl 2007 RTL and I'd love to be armed with your information. I'm in the San Francisco south bay area.

Giacomo,
I got the navi RTL at 32500 (truck only). My big hassle was the dealer added options. What I did was price each of the additional items I wanted on the www.collegehillshonda.com website, i.e., what they will sell them to you for from a Honda dealer. They were:
Towing Pkg (hitch and harness)
Roof Rack
Running Boards
Rear Mud Guards
Nose Mask (Bra)

I summed the discount price off the collegehills website and it came to 1219.

We settled on an additional 1000 bucks for the dealer to put all the stuff on for me. So my price on the vehicle, exclusive of lic+taxes was 32500+2219.

34719.

That's what I got for you, Brother. Good luck and I hope you can do better. Just know that I did not quibble one bit over the 32500 price. I did a little mental math on what else I could buy that I liked anywhere near as much for that price and could not come up with one alternative. Truth is, the Red one just sang to me the minute I saw it. I talked to one of the hardened service managers down there today to get an update on when all the stuff would be done. He was almost breathless about the truck. Apparently, people are going over to see it with the roof rack and stuff and are just stunned at how good it looks.

I am going to pick up the check for the truck tomorrow and if the gods smile, get my wife to come with me to pick it up tomorrow night. We'll see. But I will report back, with pics.
Cheers,
Scott
