New Potential Buyer - Moonroof

I am looking to buy a 2006 Ridgeline and with the incentives offered right now by Honda, it is really a good deal. Problem is finding one with the right options and color that I want. Here in Phoenix, they are down to white and silver and even those have modifications and/or a few miles on them (as demos). I currently have a CR-V EX and I love the package of options -- cloth seats with leather accents, moon/sunroof and most of the bells and whistles that the SE has. My question is why did Honda make the decision that in order to get a sunroof you have to get the RTL model? Here in the Phoenix heat, the leather seats are no great option. They really should have a value package that includes the sunroof and cloth seats.

Also, anyone else still looking for a 2006? Starting to see slim pickings in your area?

I don't know their reasoning, but it is not an uncommon combination. You can try these guys, I used them a number of years ago and didn't see any problemshttp://home.primus.ca/~triton/asc/index.htm

Re: New Potential Buyer - Moonroof

you can buy the RTX and ask Honda to install a sunroof for you, should be around $800 or so at cost.

While perhaps not as hot as Arizona, FL is quite toasty in the Summer. This is my third car with Leather and I can't say that it's in any way miserable to get into it even after it has baked in the Sun all day. I don't see that leather would be an issue.

Leather seats really don't get all that hot, they are cold as heck in the winter tho. We don't see the hot days like you do in AZ but we do have our fair share of 100+ degree days.

I believe the heated seat option comes standard if you get the leather.

Re: New Potential Buyer - Moonroof

i agree - instead of adding the RTX - i wish they would have added the moonroof opt for all models and make the towing package standard on all RL's

Re: New Potential Buyer - Moonroof

BTW - what is the size of the RL sunroof?

A friend of mine just purchased a 06 Corolla and had a moonroof put it. The install was dead on - looks perfect. Plus it has some nice features the RL doesn't offer. So I'm thinking about getting one.

She has the ASI series.

Re: New Potential Buyer - Moonroof

I'm not sure what exact dimensions are, measuring the top side it appears to be approximately 31 X 17.
What features does the after market moon roof have that the RL doesn't have?

I had an after market power sun roof in the GMC Truck I traded for the RL. IT would automatically close when you shut the key off..About the only difference from Honda Factory SR.

Re: New Potential Buyer - Moonroof

thanks for the measure...

Turn the key off the SR closes, one touch open, vent, close, will pop back to open if it detects an object ( dog - kid - crazy friend )
