Don't be surprised. $4.00/gallon gas is going to kill a lot of the market for pickups ... at least for folks who can't write them off as a business expense.

These are extremely old and highly inaccurate... for the most part nothing was done to that truck and its a basic test unit for old concepts.

Re: 2009 Ridgeline Spy Photos!!

For anyone interested, there is a photo of the 2009 Pilot in the current issue of Car & Driver. Just wondering what that will mean for the next version of the Ridgeline?? Perhaps nothing, since the current Pilot doesn't look anything like the current Ridgeline. My suggestion, make up your own version to see how close you are. Hope to hell it has a tailgate lock.

You'll see a quite a bit of new Pilot influence in newer versions of the Ridgeline. Take a look at the Pilot front end. Don't know about the tailgate lock.

Re: 2009 Ridgeline Spy Photos!!

Will they find a new supplier for the seat fabric used in RT/RTX/RTS models?

Hey Honda, give some of those Acura designers a shot at the Ridgeline front end!

That's not going to happen. Honda is going in the opposite direction. They want to create a larger seperation between the Honda and Acura brands.

You'll see more of an effort to increase commonality of parts in each of the respective brands, but seperation between the brands.

The roots of the Ridgeline are more closely related to the previous MDX platform than the Pilot but that will be changing as the Pilot and MDX grow further apart. Honda just spent a lot of money on the new Pilot and the Ridgeline will inherit many of those design changes since the Rigdgeline platform sales cannot justify high redesign expenses.

Cost savings is the name of the game right now and big changes in design will not happen for a few more years.
