PS. I got sick of looking at the different rear window thread that has been sitting on the forum front page since January 24th so I added this thread. I'll bet this section gets real busy for the next few days.

I've been hesitating to post anything regarding the 2009 model.

The 2009 was originally scheduled for late March. That date slipped to April or May.

The word I get now is that the 2009 Ridgeline is "delayed". I can't find anyone that will explain what that means.

I know Gary Flint was recently interviewed for a major magazine and when asked about the disappointing Ridgeline sales he had no comment.

What does this all mean? Your guess is as good as mine.

Alot of questions I am sure are floating about our heads over the 09... I know I am quite curious to see what they did to the front.. and perhaps the taillights... As for what Gary Flint said... meh, I'm not particularly worried about it...

I expected a delay or discontinuation... My market insight is that matchbox stopped their RL production ... I haven't seen one of those in the store in a long time...

Do you know how far they are as to the final details? They must have to at least had to do a small refitment of the Alliston Ontario plant for the new design. Have they stopped production of the 08 models to start making 09's?

I find the lack of any news as a bad omen. I figured we would have seen something by now. I hope that this doesn't mean that they are going to discontinue the Ridgeline already.

Alliston is still producing 2008 Ridgelines as of last Friday anyway. No specific build out date has been mentioned.

The 2009 changes are fairly minor and I doubt they'd need to make any significant changes to the plant. Front end and tail light changes. The interior gets several changes.

I am sure the new concept truck by Toyota that looks 95% like the RL will be an issue. I can see Honda wondering if they should stick it out as Toyota got so much press on the same truck only years later. Maybe the RL was a bit before it's time and sales will increase. On the other hand....

I wouldnt be suprised if the huge inventory they currently have , has a little something to do with the delay.

You definitely had me looking....this will always be interesting to me because I had to decide whether to buy an 08 or wait until the 09s came out...well...I'm glad I went for the 08...I didn't think there'd be a significant change....I do hope the RL continues to be made
