Re: ? how well does the ridgeline handle offroad
I want to say be safe and keep your head 1st down brotha. I did two over there and just finished with a 16 month stent in Afghan. I will tell you that riding, gas and just being comfortable you cant beat a Ridge. Value is great. It might not be the biggest or strongest but I will say it is the best.

Safe journey to you and come back home safe. I agree with all regarding the RL's off-road capability. Just make sure that clearance is NOT an issue for you. It's not nearly as easy to add clearance to an RL as it is to, say a Tacoma.

Re: ? how well does the ridgeline handle offroad
Having taken to the Ridgeline to (and probably beyond) it's off road capabilities, I'd say you would be very happy with the Ridgeline. For hard surface dirt, gravel fire roads the truck is a blast.
The independent suspension give you great grip and cornering is really impressive. The only problem I think you could find is ground clearance. If you get into anything to bumpy you will definitely bottom out. I lost an oil pan that way - great way to ruin a weekend. For what you describe it think it would be the perfect truck. I driven full throttle on fire roads in the Ocala forest, fully loaded and with bikes on the roof and thing still felt like a sport car. Thank you for your service. |
