? how well does the ridgeline handle offroad

Looking @ purchasing a ridgeline when I get back from Iraq, but wanted to know how it handled off-road/ gravel road situations. I fly-fish and toe a drift boat on somewhat rough dirt roads and put in spots. I’m not planning on doing any 4x4ing/mud bogging, I just want to make sure the ridgeline can handle washboard dirt roads, and rocky boat launches on the rivers I put in @. thanks for any replies

If what you are describing as the intended use is accurate, you will not be disaapointed with the Ridgeline at all. Washboard roads are what seperate the happy Ridgeline truck driver and the white knuckled traditional body on frame truck driver

Good luck and safe return from the war.

The Ridgeline is superior for traction and bumpy road handling thanks to the indy suspension and other good design. As others have stated here, worlds beyond the 50 year old truck technology from the other makers.

My biggest test was in 14" of wet Midwestern snow and icy hills. Passed with flying colors, while other trucks were stalled in their driveways 10 feet out of the garage. (tee-hee)

As long as you have sufficient clearance you will do well.

Re: ? how well does the ridgeline handle offroad

We've put thousands of miles on our truck driving on BLM and forest service roads out west. There are times it's gotten to rocky or rough and we've turned around. It's mainly a clearance thing. We are not out to beat our beloved truck up, but we're not staying on the pavement either.

For what you've described you will find plenty testimonials on here with photos showing that it's up for the task. I hope you have computer time to help clear your mind while you're in Iraq and that you get back to the states soon.

That's exactly what I use mine for, except it's marsh hunting for hogs/ducks/nutria . I purposely took the bumpy gravel road as fast as I could to prove to my f150 buddy that the independent suspension was much better. With a boat!

I do much the same under the same conditions. The Ridge is much more capable than other 4x4's I've owned in this respect.

Hey Sir I just got back fom Afghanistan a few months ago and bought a 2007 Ridgeline. The traction on this truck is awesome. I had it up north in Pittsburgh in the snow and on gravel. You will not be disappoined with this truck.

Re: ? how well does the ridgeline handle offroad

I traded in a 2003 Tacoma and my Ridgeline handles better on off road. It does nothave the ground clearance or skid pans if you are planning on that kind of off road. I have had on construction jobs where I was in 6"-7" of mud for as much as 1/4 mile and made it though using vtm4lock. I had mud caked around the exhuast system and had to do extensive cleanning under the truck.
