2009 Ridgeline When????

Hello Everyone,

New to the forum and don't have a Ridgeline yet. So when are the 2009's expected?

Since I am this close to the 2009 release I am going to wait to see the improvements.

Any thoughts on when.

No really significant improvements are not due till 2009. So do not anticipate anything like a new engine, or telescoping steering wheel, higher payload or any of our wish's. 2010 is the long awaited arrival of a diesel engine and who know what else.

I'm just wondering....Honda changes the Accord every 4 years. I think it's the same with the Civic. So, the Ridgeline won't be 4 years old until the 2010 model. I'm just wondering if the 2009 Ridgeline will be much different than the '06 to '08 models. I anticipate no major changes until the 2010 model. But hey, what do I know?? My advice is....if you like the Ridgeline, buy one when you want one. I did, and I'm one happy camper.

Honda is on a 5-year cycle; 2012 is the next major redux for the RL. The '09 is the mid-model refresh year, so you'll see a few cosmetic changes inside & out

If honda is on a five year cycle, then should that not be 2011 since the truck came out in 2006? I did not mean to say that there would be an upgrade in 09, I meant in 2010. I will probably hold on to mine till it reach's 50,000 miles or ten years, which ever comes first. That takes me to 2016, I wonder what model ridgeline there will be then?

Read twice and reply once. I read it again and a five year cycle would mean the model started in 06 would end in 2011 and yes a new model would start in 2012. I apologize.

So, the mid-model refresh would typically not even cover issues like adding a telescoping steering wheel, much less an engine tweak/upgrade?

To me, the $4500 incentive suggests major changes...

"09","10","11","12","13","14" wait eight more years, they will probley have changed by then. Or according to some not be made at all .

There are some other threads where pretty reliable sources/knowledgeable members are stating there's a very good liklihood the Ridge will get a detuned version of the 3.7 L that Acura has....should make around 270-275 hp if I recall....most of the changes will be minor tweaks to the interior...from what I've read...

A mid-model change can actually be pretty substantial...

I remember for the '05 Pilot (yes, the mid-model change was in '06 but this was done the year earlier) we made a major change to the body for adding the sunroof option. To just add the hole in the roof took a surprising amount of work...

As far as I've heard the Ridgeline is scheduled for a major model change for 2012, but this was from before the announcement of thr RL moving to 'Bama.
