Re: rear window open

The warning light and chime is there to remind you that you left the window open, not because you can't do it. It OK to leave it open when you want to.

HI rakapur,

Being in the DC area it may not be a good idea leaving the back window open!!!. I installed a set of Ventshade Vent Visors and I can open all 4 windows about 2 inches and no one can tell there open unless they come right up and look,, Also, If it rains while the windows are open, No rain comes in. Just a thought, Dave

A similar thing I found that helps this time of year is to use the remote unlock button to lower all four windows as I approach the Ridge to let the hot air out. I didn't know the feature existed until a friend who also owns a Ridge showed me how it worked. It makes a nice impression when friend rides with you to lunch and you open the windows as you walk up to the Ridge.

Talking Re: rear window open

I like to leave my rear window open when the weather allows. I did have a problem with any leaves, sticks, and other debris blowing in the back window while driving down the road, especially if you have the other windows or sunroof open. I custom built a screen window to keep stuff and insects from getting in. It also helps if you want to leave the window about a third of the way open to let the hot air out. The screen will shed most of the rain, very little gets through. I'm thinking about going commercial with it. It have seen lots of fancy smancy rear screens for 50$ and up, some even over 100$, but mine is much cheaper, easy to install and remove.

Re: rear window open

I would advise caution at leaving the rear window open...given that it is the first step of the self-destruct sequence...
