I would have to recommend against the trailer.... the tongue weight would be too high. Tongue weights are not limited because the truck will break or anything like that, but rather when the hitch is weighed down too much, the suspension sags too far, and the handling is effected. I would have no worries about towing something that exceeded the weight if you were going, say, 10 or 20 miles..... but from the sound of your post, you are planning on towing - a lot. As for fuel mileage - i can only guess, but with a 4000 pound trailer, I'd be surprised at anything more than 8 mpg. Good luck.
