I actually can move the rack forward a bit before the brake hoods start rubbing on the back window. I need to get the spacer blocks marked so I always put the rack in the same position.

I haven't really used the rack yet, but I wasn't planning on any straps. I've yanked and pulled on the rack vigorously and it doesn't move.
