In the trunk area where the spare tire sits when stowed are two vents that allow the air to escape when you close your trunk. I bet the little bugger got in through there.
If you remove the spare tire and storage tray from the trunk and look at the very back, you will see the vents, one loctaed on each side up at the very back of the storage are.
