I've considered them, but would think the only benefit is not getting your original seat so dirty. Wear guard I'm not so sure about.

In a word, NO! The fitting is very snug, and with the type of backing underneath the neoprene, they resist any sliding or tendency to move at all when getting in and out. If there is any problem at all, it would maybe be the front seat bottom covers. The bottom pieces for the front seats have nylon ties that run from front to back as well as from side to side which fasten under the seats. I found I didn't even have to fasten the straps that go from side to side -- just used the front to rear ones and as long as the straps are pulled tight all is fine. In full disclosure, it was a little troublesome and time consuming for impatient, lazy me to spend the time trying to route the straps under the front seats that ran from the sides, and after just a very short time I found they weren't really needed as long as the straps running from front to back are cinched down pretty tightly. I just tucked the side straps down inside the seat trim running around the seat bottoms.

As far as wear, I took the front covers off a couple of months ago to just get a peek at the seats since I forgot what they even looked like after over 2 years being covered up. They looked as clean and factory new as the day I first laid eyes on the truck. Wish I could say the same for my windshield, but that's another story.
