LAF-A/F Sensor What and Where is it?

I was looking at my fuses inside on the drivers side (forgot the real name for it) and noticed I had a fuse spot for the LAF a 15 amp fuse but there wasn't a fuse in it, I tried to do some research here on the ROC and googled it online and couldnt really find anything.

So I went to the dealer and ask them about it, he showed me in the manual that it is the fuse for the A/F Sensor and I asked what does it do? and why didnt I have a fuse in the spot he said it may only be for certain Ridgelines, he then shows me a schematic and it shows it has a relay connected to a evapcanister and also 4 other sensors.

So my question is What is it?, where is it? and How does it work? and if anyone on here has it?

Re: LAF-A/F Sensor What and Where is it?

Your Ridgeline has the fuse you stated. I am not sure if you mis read something in the fuse box or not, but if you were missing the LAF sensor fuse you would have a check engine light on. The LAF is basically sensor that determines the oxygen content in the exhaust. It is different in it's operation than an oxtgen sensor. A standard O2 sensor says RICH/LEAN..... where as an A/F ratio sensor will determine how rich or how lean. It's operation is complicated, and while I could explain it, it would sound like gibberish to most. Bottom line - everyone with a Ridgeline has LAF sensors - and everyone needs them.

Thanks for replying, I think I could have understood the gibberish, thats my native language , Does this affect fuel economy?

Yes. With it operating correctly, the fuel economy sucks. Without it, it sucks even worse!
