heated seats

Just bought a 07 RL and it has heated seats. I have noticed that my seats are getting warm even though the heated seats are off. I have leather heated seats in my other car and they do not get warm just by body heat. Has anyone else had this problem?

MAKE SURE YOUR SWITCH IS TURNED OFF, NOT HIGH OR LOW SETTING.
IT IS VERY EASY TO HAVE IT BUMPED AND BE ON LOW. THINK TOP OF SWITCH IS HIGH, BOTTOM SWITH IS LOW.................MIDDLE IS OFF.

Personally I would say these seats feel warm after you have been sitting in them....I even glance down to see if I had hit the switch to low or left it on from the last time I was in the truck.....as you may already know that the little yellow/amber led will light when your seats are being heated..

Silver EX-L w/MR]Full nose bra, Moonroof deflector, Rear mud guards, Body side moulding, Block heater, locking lug nuts. Cargo net...

I/m having the same problem - seats feel like they are on when they definetly are not. I'm thinking about getting sheep skin seat covers. I have had them in other cars and they allow your back side to breath in the warmer months.

I have an RTS and with the AC cranked, I still sweat in the seats. They are very dense in the foam department.... Very good for the cold winter months.

I have the same issue! I thought I was going nuts.

I sent my wife & daughter out to check the seats when I came home last week to see if they thought the seats were hot.

The passenger seat was not warm at all.

Conclusion -- I don't think it is the heated seats, but the type of cushion in the seat. IMHO

THere have been many times that I thought the heater was on and always found myself checking to see if it got bumped accidentally. But it seems that the seat just retains the body heat. So you are not alone, because I often wondered if there was a problem with the seat's heater.

If anyone has had their seats checked and a problem found, I'd like to know!

i'm finding the same problem with the seats. leather seats are not as great as people think. they get hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

personally, i think the heated seats should go off automatically once the car is turned off. my other vehicles do that. it makes sense instead of them staying in the 'on' mode.
