What about EEZIAWN?

Not sure if they fit a Ridgeline but these tents are well established and respected, and are widely used by the expedition crowd. So you know they are of proven design.

Re: Tents for Ridgeline

I wanna Landrover. The real one.
So I can park it at the lodge.
Those rooftop tents are cool.

Re: Tents for Ridgeline

Has anyone thougth about just trying to put in a two man tent into the bed. I was looking online and they have backpacking tents that measure 4.5' x 7'. It seems like you could probably squeeze one in and rig up a way to hold it down....any thoughts????

Idealy, if it rains, you want to keep the water out of the pickup bed. I guess you could rig a big rain flap.
It's important to me to be able to stand up in the tent.
I think I'll call Rainier (mentioned above, 2/21/08) and pretend to be interested in buying a truck tent. The owner did show some interest in the project.

You are probably right...the key is to just go camping when it's not raining!

Re: Tents for Ridgeline

I think the key is to go camping at the Lodge, and leave the weather worry to the staff. They have nice warm, dry shuttles to take one into the wilds. And they do the dishes.

We keep a sheet of 3/4" plywood, trimed to fit with the tailgate up, then slide it out beyond the tailgate to support the mattress in the bed of the truck. Keeps the wife up off the ground, so she has no fear of reptiles crawling in to get warm! A bed tent we got at Cabella's has an awning that covers the door. Will probably eventually get the Leer cap, then use a tent designed to back an SUV into.
