It has been a long time in the making but RETRAX now has the roll-up tonneau cover available for the Ridgeline. There have been several threads started on this subject since early in March when I first joined and started to inquire about a better Tonneau Cover. I am not quite sure which one to post this information on - so I just started a new one. Not quite sure if that helps or makes the problem worse. Perhaps T Mac or Zero can help and redirect us so that we can pull all the wagons in a circle.

I have been in touch with Randy at RETRAX and nearly everything is in place now. Even though no other ROC member with a RETRAX that I am aware of has responded to our requests for their feedback, I will order one in the morning and post pictures and comments about the entire process and the installation. I will also order both electric locks and install them when they are available.

The last picture is here. By the way, the rails for the cover do interfere with the opening of the in-bed trunk. The picture that shows the tape measure is a good indication. While I wish that it fully cleared the rails, the amount that it limits the opening is tolerable. You may not be able to get a single large item such as a huge picnic cooler in and out of the trunk but the spare tire and other small items appear to be no problem. Just watch your head. The lid will be just about forehead level for me.

If you go the the RETRAX web site at www.rolltopcover.com and order a video of an installation, there will be a little extra information packed with the tape. Basically it is a few FAQs and a similar price list to the following. It is a generic install on a conventional pickup truck bed - not the Ridgeline.

Hey Hog,

Do you know if the locking system will lock the tailgate too? Seems silly to have a lock for the cover when there isn't a lock for the tailgate. Just curious, I'm interested and it looks like a great product I'm just not sure I need a cover yet. However, knowing that it could lock down the tailgate and cover would add another layer of storage with security.

and before anyone starts, Yes everyone, I know there's a trunk back there, I was saying, additonal secure storage.

There are two seperate accessory electric locks. The first one is for the Rolltopcover. It is available now. The second one is for the tailgate. It should be available in about two weeks. They cost $67.00 each. I have not looked at the installation instructions yet. I suspect that they are both surface mount devices as opposed to being recessed into the tailgate, but I am not certain at this time. Since there is an electric lock in the trunk, wiring should be easy.

I did place my order with Randy this morning. ETA is about 10 days. Details of the process and my installation with pictures will be posted.

Although there may be other authorized AND NON-AUTHORIZED RETRAX dealers on the net, personally, I suggest that the orders be placed directly wiyh Randy at the factory (800-206-4070). This is a new design for an existing product on a new vehicle with a unique bed. If there are any issues I will be much more comfortable dealing directly with the people that can make decisions and help with whatever may happen. When you place your order, be sure to mention this ROC site. That will be very helpful for their marketing efforts and will aid in promoting this great site. For a limited time, Randy and RETRAX are offering a discount to ROC members, but you must ask for it by name.

By the way, Ultra-hog, thanks for volunteering your knowledge on this subject, we really appreciate it. Almost everyone in this forum will probably get a cover and your input is very helpful.

No problem Blue, Thank you though. I am simply trying to contribute something in return for all that I have learned from this site and its many fine members. If you order the video ftom the www.rolltopcover.com site, I think that you will get a pretty good idea about how well it works. By the time that you get the video I should have pictures and comments posted. I doubt that there are more than a few in customers hands yet throughout the country right now. I believe that soon they will be everywhere. I wonder if we can buy stock in RETRAX?
