Been shopping...
Placed the orders for various accessories from few vendors. There were few surprises during and after orders were placed but nothing to worry about much I guess. I'll be busy installing 'em all next few weekends.
TRIM, FR. (LOWER) $304.50 PROTECTOR, BODY SIDE $279.30 HITCH, TRAILER $227.50 WIRE HARNESS, TRAILER HITCH $118.30 HITCH BALL (2") $12.60 KEY-LOCKING HITCH PIN $23.10 FOGLIGHTS $237.30 SWITCH, FOGLIGHT $20.30 CARGO NET, TRUNK $38.50 All of the above with $75 shipping. Canceled the following due to shipping cost for the side steps and discontinued item for the rails. OEM SIDE STEP, TUBE (BLACK) $367.50 BED RAILS, MULTIFUNCTION Parrot 3200-LS Bluetooth Kit QCHon-1 Honda Acura Non-Amplified to Parrot Adapter $257.85 USD including shipping I intend to update my good ole GPS unit with ZUMO which has a BT phone integration but this is too slick to pass. I wish BT was available like it was in Acura. I had a trip with one and we could hold conference calls while driving without the other end noticing they were on the wireless. Ended up ordering Westin 4" black oval tubes mainly because they do not turn into under the body at ends like many others do which I didn't like the looks of it. They very much look like OEM ones with their profiles except flimsier mounting brackets, I understand. Westin Oval Tube Black Powdercoat Steps $177.10 Westin Mounting Kits, Oval Tube Steps $117.99 Total $295.09 with free shipping. Go Rhino Receiver Hitch Black Powdercoat Step Bar $89.99 Total $102.78 with shipping All these for the dark cherry RTL. I thought black would look nice on cherry... Re: Been shopping...
I've got everything delivered before the weekend. I guess I better get busy next couple of days. I think Out of all the packages/items there was only one issue. One of the side step tubes (Westin oval black) came "used" with all the mud and crud on it. It was from TruckCustomizers. I was not able to talk to them but they replied stating that they initiated the return process although I didn;t ask for it yet. I'll clean it up and check to see what shape it is in. Also, the other one is missing the screws to secure end caps.
Parrot BT link is a bit bigger than I hoped for and the cable coming directly below is not going to make it easy to hide. I'll document my install and post it if there would be any interest. ![]() I've managed install Parrot 3200LS, Westin side steps and tow hitch with stepper this afternoon. I've tried to take pictures of the black oval steps and black hitch stepper on dark cherry but it was already too dark out to get any decent photos. Last edited by Ruhi : 05-05-2007 at 06:42 PM. |

Re: Been shopping...
I'd be curious to see pictures of the step bars. I am looking at those same bars to put on my new RL that my wife and I picked up last weekend. How was the install? I was wondering about the mounting. Do they use the factory mount locations or something else? I assume there are no riv-nuts to install like the OEM version.

Re: Been shopping...
Wow... You've really dug this out from past.
I have posted detailed pictures and my review of install and finish somewhere else at around the time of the original posting. Since then, the tubes held up well but mounts rusted pretty good taking the most of the abuse from the salt. If you cannot find the pictures, please PM me. GoRhino Receiver Hitch Step served its purpose by the way. It took the abuse from a NJ transit bus while stopped at the red light and prevented the contact with the bumper. It was bent upwards but was worth the $100.

Re: Been shopping...
Wow, I looked at the date and somehow read the 2007 as 2008 so I actually thought it was current. My Bad. Thanks for the reply anyway and I will take a look around.
