Bed Cargo Net

Found myself helping someone move this weekend, and realized that it would have been helpful to have a net for the truck's bed to secure boxes and a number of rubbermaid totes. I've seen the Honda OEM net that Honda sells, but I was wondering if anyone had found an aftermarket net that they were happy with. The shortage of tiedowns in the bed makes it a little difficult, but everything I've found locally (PepBoys, Autozone, Walmart) is too large for the smaller bed of the Ridgeline.

Re: Bed Cargo Net

Why would you want to go aftermarket when there is a great, relatively inexpensive Honda accessory, specifically designed for RL?

Re: Bed Cargo Net

Raplon - I agree that there is a nice Honda version available, but I'd have to argue on the inexpensive part. While I realize that with the current prices, the Honda net can be found for around the same cost as a tank of gas, that doesn't mean I want to spend $50 plus dollars if I can find something comperable for less. I don't do a lot of hauling in the truck, in fact this is the first time I've filled the bed in the 6 months I've owned my Ridgeline.

Re: Bed Cargo Net

I purchased a Honda cargo net on eBay about a year ago. I use it several times a month. It fits the bed perfectly and stretches as needed. You could go with a stock net, but it will not fit as well. The net is made from non-stretching straps with elastic at the ends.

I recommend the Honda cargo net.

You got me all confused. Are there two different Honda nets? What is stock net? I though there was only one cargo net!

Re: Bed Cargo Net

I use an aftermarket one (actually, 2), even if one is a little larger. Both are adjustable.

I tried to use my friend's OEM and it was too tight, restrictive. And I am sure price-wise, they are cheaper elsewhere. I'd go to Auto Zone or Checker and find one. I think the one I got was from Checker, but it was a long time ago.

Re: Bed Cargo Net

I have the Honda OEM bed net. First tried a generic net from Yakima (bought at local Joes store). It also worked great, but the hook system on it was always getting tangled up (it was basically a big network of bungie cords). More trouble that it was worth.

OEM Net is straps with the bungies strung inside. The also retract a little when not in use, which keeps the tangling to a minimum. Also, the OEM net can be folded in half and hung from the upper tie downs near the cab, making a sort of "pocket"...

Only complaint is it should be longer - it fits the **BED** perfectly, but is less useful with the tailgate down and the bed extender in use - it does not cover the tailgate.
