Bull Bar Install help needed

I just purchased bull bar from Hunter Truck Accerrories and have a request. The bar looks nice but the directions are almost worthless. The direction tell me to put the bracket over the support bracket below the radiator support. The problem is those brackets are not flat and if the bull bar brackets are installed over top they will flatten one or bend the bar bracket. Please describe how you installed your bull bar. Thank you for any responses.

Re: Bull Bar Install help needed

Your brackets are most likely like the ones I received for my hunter bumper guard.... Yes the directions are useless, and yes you will most likely end up with many extra bracket parts and bolts...

So here are some links to help you out...

First: The hunter product I got Bumper Front Push Guard Bar.....???

Second the link where I asked about torque specs and the excellent help I got form that post: Radiator core brackets Torque Spec???

What is meant as going on top of the bracket literally means on top of it ... If you are looking down on from a standing up position... really meaning between... Here, Truckin's picture explains it all...

The only thanks is post pics when you're done...

A couple of more tips... As you face the front of the RL, the left side smallest bolt will be the biggest pain of the install. The install should take less then 1/2 hour, but that one bolt will bring it to and extra hour...

You do not need to remove the entire engine splash guard... Just all around the front will work.

Lastly, when you go and cut the engine splash guard, get a really sharp knife, life a pocket knife, and as you hold the splash guard up to the brackets cut along the bracket using the bracket it self as your straight edge. Repeat for the other side of the bracket and when you get to the curved bracket portion, a little cut across and you're done. This in my opinion gives you the snuggest fit.

Nice and clean install. Is that the 119 bull bar from Ebay?

Looks very good on your Ridge.
