Re: Discount OEM Honda Parts

Anyone shipping that hitch and harness for $27 is losing money.

Re: Discount OEM Honda Parts

Regarding Majestic Honda...

My wife purchased her Civic EX coupe from them about 3 months ago and I purchased my Ridgeline RTL/Navi about 2 weeks ago.

They have been around a long time and are very honest and low pressure. Price wise, I paid about $7,000 below MSRP for the Ridgeline.

My brother and I went there with our elderly dad about a year and a half ago. He wanted a Honda Acord. My brother said "We don't want to pay any more than invoice". The sales woman said "How about paying below invoice, is that OK with you?" My dad paid cash.

I was not aware of the sale on parts! I will have to check it out tomorrow when I go down to get my registration.

Majestic started as an old hardware store that was in the bottom floor of a former movie theater (Majestic) in downtown West Warwick (Artic), RI. They began to offer Honda generators at first. Then they became the only Honda motorcycle dealer in RI. Honda then bugged them to offer the cars. They finally took the jump and became the first Honda dealer in RI. If you go there today you will see a new condition old Honda (1970's) on the showroom floor.

Re: Discount OEM Honda Parts

Well, on August 17 they sent me the wrong hitch (there was a $50 overweight surcharge). Now they have to send me the right one, and pay return shipping on the old. Maybe that's why they don't want to sell you a hitch, BRB.

Re: Discount OEM Honda Parts

just want to add that folks should consider bernardihonda.com. Ive had great service and prices from them maintaining our 99 Odyssey. They are a regular favorite on the Ody owners club board. Of course you cant beat the service and support of H & A either.

To me, this is unacceptable as this is their job to know what it costs them to ship an item or to post that an item cannot be shipped. Even in this case, there are many others that ship hitches, so it is plain foolish on their part to say it could not be shipped. This is the confirmation of my order that they sent me:

Order Details
Product Number Description Quantity Unit Price Total Price
08L92-SJC-100 HITCH, TRAILER 1 $227.50 $227.50
08L91-SJC-100B WIRE HARNESS, TRAILER HITCH 1 $118.30 $118.30
Subtotal $345.80
Sales Tax $0.00
Shipping Charge $16.29
Handling Charge $4.95
TOTAL $367.04
Shipping Method: FedEx Residential Service
I don't know how badly you want to install an OEM hitch/harness versus another brand, but ther are several companies that make hitches for the RL. I ordered mine from the u-haul site. The price of the hitch is $129.95, and I think the total cost including shipping was in the $150-160 range. For my wiring, I just went to the local RV/camper store and they used T-1 connectors (require no cutting of wires) and the cost of that (parts + labor) was $80. Installation of the hitch is a piece of cake. There are no holes to drill, just bolts right onto the frame. It also came with all of the necessary hardware. The only other tool you will need other than a rachet/socket is a torque wrench to make sure you have the bolts tightened properly. Good luck.

Re: Discount OEM Honda Parts

I see they have a Roof Rack for 213. This is the lowest price I have seen. Are these genuine Honda parts? Are these people for real? I would order but I'm always a little skeptical when it comes to internet businesses.

Thanks for the feedback.

Bernardi is for real. I've ordered from them with satisfactory results.

I just bought the roof rack from them for $213 (and the rear mud guards) shipping was $16.95 and $4.95 handling - got the package in 4 days. I've never had a problem with these guys and have been buying from them for 10 years. Their prices are cheaper than anyone else - I know some people have complained about customer service - but only the people with problems post, so I wouldn't let that be a true reflection of customer satisfaction.

I bought my wiring harness from Bernardi and they have the cheapest prices I could find. The shipment arrived quickly. I've also found them to be a good source for installation instructions. I plan to buy all my upgrades from them. I even distributed their web site to my family for gift ideas
