Roll-N-Lock Built in Tailgate Lock
I've narrowed down my choice of Tonneau cover's between the FMJR & Roll-N-Lock. I am leaning more towards the Roll-N-Lock becuase it claims to have a built in Tailgate lock. Has anyone had any good experience with this built in lock? My main concern was to make sure any goods i keep in the bed are secure.

Roll-N-Lock is a sponsor of the ROC and you can find several previous discussions about them. Do a keyword search for: roll-n-lock
Good luck!

Re: Roll-N-Lock Built in Tailgate Lock
Hey Bryan. I met the "tech" that helped you when I was at the SEMA show this week. His name was Mark Sandifer. He's actually their Western Regional Sales Rep. He was telling us about your install and hoped that it was working well for you since he saw you. The cover looks great. I really like the design and operation better than what I have seen from other brands. This picture is of their demo truck with the cover installed. Sorry, no real shot of the cover itself.

Yeah. Mark was awsome! He didn't mess around either or try and suger coat it for me. He told me I messed up the install and he was right. I'm glad you like it and I know you'll like it when it's installed.
I'm working on a way to get the trunk lid to open more but I would need to cut into the track. hmmmmmmmm........... ![]()

Re: Roll-N-Lock Built in Tailgate Lock
bbnmcas: I'm considering rnl. I looked at the instructions on-line and there is a strip that screws to the tailgate. Do you think it interferes with loading and unloading items with the tailgate pulled down? If you hauled 2x4s with the tailgate down, would it damage that strip? Thanks.

Re: Roll-N-Lock Built in Tailgate Lock
I have a full size spare.
How does the RNL effect access to the spare tire since the trunk lid does not open as much as stock? TIA

Re: Roll-N-Lock Built in Tailgate Lock
OARNOLD: I don't think the wood would damage the strip at all. It's very well built. I slide my 50 lbs. hockey bag across it once a week without any issues.
TLAUDIO: I don't think you'll be able to remove a full size spare from the trunk with the RNL cover on. It looks just big enough to remove the regular size spare, not a full size spare. I've considered designing a way to raise and lower the track that would allow the trunk to open more but I have to leave for Iraq on Wednesday so those plans will have to wait a year. Oh well.
