Let us know how the gauge works out.... I'm tired of having to look at the gauge at different angles to figure out what the pressure really is... The tuff part of having a non flexible tire stem…. I usually won't deal with checking the pressure if the stems are too close to the ground...

I just received the Valeo Wipers from TireRack. Quick service and adequately packaged. I'll get them installed this evening.

This is the air pressure gauge I ordered. I tried it out and I like the ease of operation. You simply put it over the valve stem, insuring there is no leaking air, and hold until the display stabilizes. Just takes a moment. The display holds the reading for a few seconds enabling enough time to view it off the stem. The stated accuracy is +/- 1%, +.5psi. The .5psi is probably due to the display reading in .5psi increments.

Thanks for the help, everyone.

Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

I was told that the Rain-X Latitudes and the Bosch Icons were essentially the same blades in that they were made in the same factory. Can anyone confirm this? If true, the Rain-X cost less and are a better deal, if they have the same rubber as the Icons. Thanks!

Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

I recommend bosch icons, they were the first of this wiper type.

yes, they are less likely to accumulate ice and more likely to fully wipe

i also noticed this(mainly at highway speeds)that snow and ice freezes into the frame and prevents it from springing, the frameless wipers are the solution to this problem. I would also venture a guess that they are more aerodynamic.

Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

I went with the Valeo for two reasons:

They were recommended by another ROC member who has given me sound
advice in the past, and

They were on a two-for-one sale at TireRack.

Now if we would only get some snow/ice to try them out on. I have noticed they operate more quietly than the OEM.

Looking forward to your review Joe...I can't wait to get my Rain-X wipers off... I don't think they're a year old yet and they streak something ugly.

Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

I just installed my Bosch ICON frameless wipers last night before the snow this morning. I love them already - no streaks so far. They handled the freezing rain and snow easily. So far I'm sold.

It was my understanding that wipers, in general, should be replaced every 6 to 8 months because that's when the rubber begins to get stiff and streaking begins? Do Bosch & Valeo have longer wear life? If so how much?
