The Valeo worked flawlessly. They gave a nice clean wipe and were extremely quiet. I'm satisfied with their performance at $15 for the set. That being said, I was also satisfied with the operation of the OEM. The OEM frame can be noisey, especially during an 8 hour trip.

I must also say that I've been using the Rain-X Washer Fluid and as you know it does a nice job of repelling rainwater. This may account for my satisfaction with the OEM. I also hope it's not clouding my perception of the Valeo.
The rubber compound they use has a proprietary protecting layer that they claim will last much longer than other blades on the market. They claim that the blades will provide like new wiping performance for over 500,000 complete wipe cycles. If it took 1 second for the blades to go back and forth, that’s a 138 hours of continuous wipes... Joe you have only 130 hours left before the start to show signs of crapping out.... There shouldn't be any issues for a couple of years...

I'm coming up on a year with no issues or signs of aging. On my wife’s vehicle the blades are not recessed, travels 40 miles a day for work, and there is no heated wiper zone. The blades still do not show signs of aging.

hey, I resemble that remark! besides, without us "old-timers" what would the younger generation(s) have to compare themselves to make them feel superior?

Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

http://www.silblade.com/

Go for the Flexblade. I have had these on 2 vehicles and they are fantastic. They come with a 5 year warrantee. Normal blades wear out in 6 months. These work great in -20F or 100F. On the Ridge, the passengers' side doesn't QUITE bend enough and leaves like a 3x3 spot at the lower right of the windshield. (On our '06 RAV, they are fine)

I am VERY particular about my windshield - typically I wiped other blades clean with alcohol monthly. I have never had to do this with the Silblades. I have had them on the Ridge for over a year and they are as good as new. Got the wife a set and she actually called me to say how good they work.

BTW - Clean your windshield with the aerosol can cleaners and a terry towel. WAY better than Windex or the like. I like the RainX aerosol, but Invisiglass works well too. (Ever wonder why the Nascar crews use aerosol cans? Hint: They work.)

I just yesterday ordered me a set of the Valeos from Tires Direct. They still have the buy one get one free offer. So for $19.99, I got me some new wipers coming...
