Other Products - Valeo Ultimate Wiper Blades (Hook-Lock)

Get a 24 and a 22. Put them in your shopping cart and they will make the buy 1 get 1 free adjustment. I chose cheapest shipping and they got to me in a day or 2.... To install, on the Valeo there is a little box that covers up the hook where you connect. The door on top just pops up allowing easy insertion of the wiper shaft. Literally no tools and 34 seconds to install...

Thumbs up Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

Thanks for paving the way, brich! Got my order in while they're still in stock.

Numbnuts here went to tiresdirect.com. Some kind of "redirect site" that had my connection spinning it's tires...

Unlike your "quick turnaround", and with the long holiday weekend, I don't expect to see them 'til Thursday, or so, but with the weather outlook what it is here in the east, it looks like we'll not be needing to use our wipers sooner than that, anyways.

Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

So, I read through this thread about 6 weeks ago, and thought I'd give the Valeo a try. Installed them on 05.28.08. They worked great.

Last night we got an isolated thunder storm hit us for about 30 minutes - long enough to turn all the dust on my Ridge to muddy little rings. Knowing my wife's car needed wipers, I order her some Valeo online - better late then never.

This morning, I head off to work, and hit the wiper fluid to clean the windshield, and the driver side Valeo Ultimate snapped off! The hinged top snapped completely off, and the cross bar that holds it on, broke on the side towards the hood. So, I pull over, toss it into the trunk, and duct tape the empty wiper arm end to protect the windshield.

Anyone experience anything like this? Figures, I just ordered new ones for the wife's car. I don't remember any bad reviews about them... but now I wonder if I shouldn't use them. Sigh.

Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

VIMH, sorry to hear about the problem.

Mine have been on since March and are holding up just fine. I'm not overly impressed yet, but I'm more than satisfied so far. I got two years out of the OEM's, so I think that will be the true test for the Valeo's. If I can get the same life out of these with a quieter running blade than the OEM at $14 or $15 bucks a pair, I'll be happy.

I've yet had the opportunity to see how they keep from icing over. That was my biggest complaint with the OEM and the reason I decided to try a frameless wiper.

Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

I've had mine on for a few weeks now and no real issues. They do chatter a bit but are pretty quiet. They do clear the window really good. I'd say I'm happy with them but as Joe says, I too am not overly impressed yet I'm not disappointed. They are IMO equivalent to the Rain-X I had on before but much cheaper.

So far no complaints and mine are standing up well. I will keep an eye on them knowing this happened to you Voices...

Thanks guys! They worked really well, the one time I used them before this morning... gotta love Az!

Anyway, I may just go buy some Bosch Icons for now. I'll take some pictures of where the Valeo broke when I get home, just in case someone might find it interesting.

Re: Frameless Winshield Wipers

I just went out to my RL and inspected the clamping mechanism and I see no signs of it loosening or cracking. I would like to think Valeo would be using plastics that would stand up to UV damage, especially with your Arizona sun VIMH.

I can tell that you haven't put on the aquapel yet........ I'll put it on for you at the NJ meet... The Rain-x silicon base screws with the wipers ability to do their job....

Well, I can't say about the UV thing, since they were only on for a month... However, I can say that I am NOT impressed with the piece of plastic that holds the thing together! Take a look at how thin the cross bar of plastic is!!!

So, although these wipers have worked well for just about everyone else, I am going to have to pass on them from now on... just MHO based on my experience. Good luck to everyone else!
