Thumbs up New Tonneau - Truxedo

Installed new Truxedo lo pro tonight. Super easy install need to make a few adjustments but overall looks great. The rear seal between gate and cover could be a little more substantial but everything else is solid. I did notice a little noise driving home so I may need the additional Ridgeline velcro kit. If they had the install instructions for the additional velcro I would just do it myself, a perk of being in the graphics biz we always have velcro. lol

Too bad that there isn't a way to keep the top front tie downs.

Thank you to the members who took the time to pass along their experiences. It made the decision easier. Especially the Canadian Ridgies who relayed the import information. Also thanks to Luke at Truck Alterations for his input and the smooth, fast order and delivery. Ordered Wednesday, cleared customs Thursday, delivered Friday morning, great service. It was about the only thing that went right this week.

Re: New Tonneau - Truxedo

I have norrowed down my choices for a bed cover to the Truxedo and the Retrax. Both look great, and seem to work great, based on the reviews of forum members. However, the Truxedo is about half the price of the Retrax. BUT, the Retrax is a "hard" cover, while the Truxedo is a "soft" cover. I know there are countless posts on the forum about tonneau covers, but I'm still wondering if the Retrax is worth TWICE the price of the Truxedo....???

For a soft cover, the Truxedo is definitely worth the price!

P.S.- Can you post some pics please?

Re: New Tonneau - Truxedo

For what it's worth, I just traded my '99 Toyota pickup in for my '07 Ridge and it had a soft tonneau from day one and it still looked good. If you put a coat of Armorall on it once in a while, they last.
But I just installed a Retrax on the Ridge (love it!!!). Technology has changed and so I hope to have this Tonneau for a while.

Re: New Tonneau - Truxedo

25 minutes install time and my Truxedo Lo Pro looks great!!...Would recommend it to other Ridgeline owners. Got Torx 40 and 50 mm from Sears. $4.99 each. Truxedo on ebay, $299+32 shipping....one of the better deals I found.
Glenn.

Wow, looks great! Any specs on that one? Does it fold back, or roll up?

Re: New Tonneau - Truxedo

The LoPro Truxedo rolls up. Velcro seems really strong now that it is new...have heard it gets weaker as the years go on...no problems opening the trunk door, the trunk inside opens about 80 percent, enough to access the items inside.

Re: New Tonneau - Truxedo

Just a clarification...when you state that the trunk only opens 80% is this due to the side rails? So it is 80% whether the tonneau is closed or rolled open, correct?

I keep seeing different comments regarding Retrax and Access also...Does anyone know what the opening for the trunk is for these other two? And again, specifically due to the side rails, whether the tonneau is open or closed.

Thank you. Erik
