Graphic on Retrax?

just installed my Retrax on yesterday and I am wondering if anyone has put any sort of graphic on their cover? Was thinking of some of removable vinyl decal. Pats or Sox logo would look pretty cool.

Re: Graphic on Retrax?

I'm not too sure how the graphic would hold up since the cover rolls. I would think it would stretch it and make it bubble there.. I'll have to try one on mine and let you know.

I thought maybe something with some elasticity would work. I am no expert at all, but the fact that the cover is continuous on the top I thought it might work.

Re: Graphic on Retrax?

If you do it, I'd suggest cutting a slit at each of the hinge-points on the cover. (maybe even leaving a 1/4" gap at each one of those points.) Adhesive-backed graphics will stretch, but won't shrink back when the time comes................and even if they do (just a little bit) they won't do it over and over again.

I'd have to agree and his idea of cutting slits at each section would probably work although not certain how well an adhesive-backed vinyl graphic would hold up after repeated rolling into the canister. I've seen giant graphics on the rollup doors on the back of semi-trailers and delivery trucks and I'd assume that's how they do it.

Something that would absolutely work (although quite a bit more expensive) would be to silk-screen the graphics onto your cover using epoxy inks.

Sweet idea, Moose. Expensive I would think, but surely is the best option for long term duability.

Only issue here is if you cut a slit into each gap you will lose all the protection from water getting into the back. The silk screen is a cool idea, but you are probably right, that would not be cheap. Anyone else wanna be the guinea pig?

If my wife sees one more Pizza Man Logo on my truck, she'll flip! Maybe I can get her smiling face screened on.... Hmmm.

Yeah, she'll go for that!
