XM $77 deal...Good for other vehicles?

Lots of members have gotten the $77 annual XM radio deal for their Ridgelines, but has anyone gotten that same $77 deal for other XM radios...either stand alone units or XM radios in other vehicles?

I have a Delphi XM2go unit I use in my Accord, and I'd like to renew it for $77 a year instead of the $140 I currently pay. Anybody done this??

My daughter got it for her Accord. But be forewarned, if you fail to re-up or cancel PRIOR to the subscription expiration, XM will automatically renew at the highest rate. Plus their subscription guys CANNOT process a request to discontinue, they will turn you over to collection & they're generally a bunch of a$$holes on the collection/renewal end.

We paid the fraudulent renewal, discontinued & bought the kid a bigger iPod.

I wouldn't wish XM on my worst enemy ... not the radio, which is nice, but the company.

Thanks for the XM info, folks. Nice to know the good XM pricing is available for other XM units. And djeaux, I have heard also that it's murder trying to cancel an XM subscription. Apparently, it's a life sentence. Anybody have any hints for getting OUT of an XM subscription if you need to??

Right there with ya! But, I didn't even get that far...

After First Solicitation "Invoice":
I do not need to keep getting soliciting invoices to pay to continue a service that has yet to work.
Your service doesn't work for me. I don't have your service. I don't want your service. I will never want your service.
Please remove my name and address from any and all mailing lists and do not mail me anything from your company again.

After 2nd:
I had completely forgotten that I had an XM receiver in my truck. When I called twice back when I first bought the truck, gave my Radio ID (which must be right as on the trial expiration "invoice", you list my vehicle and VIN), and tried to get it working. However, it never got more than the 3 preview stations, it had before I originally called. So I never listed to any of your stations as the radio would not tune to any of them.
Customer Service = Poor.
Product = Poor.
Changes of my subscribing = 0%.
Possibility of my eventually removing the receiver and selling it on ebay = High

Ok, I was having a bad day, but they stopped mailing me!

If you stop payment, they simply turn you over to a collection agency. When you call them about this, they sternly point out that they have every intention of clobbering your credit rating over their $39 "extension" subscription, they do not offer any special rates & they seem utterly disinterested in what you think about XM customer service.

I speak from experience. The bottom line is the bottom line as far as XM goes. If you're signing up, you get fairly nice reps. If you want to discontinue, you'll find that a sales rep cannot take a discontinuation request. It has to be in writing & it has to be sent to an address they won't give you over the phone.

That Honda packages XM with their vehicles is a major, major problem I have with Honda. If they insist on the package deal, Honda ought to either (a) provide it free on all models since its nothing but an XM promotion anyway or (b) provide the option to have it removed for a $400 discount which is about what Honda charges to install XM.

Related question: I have heard that XM does not work in Hawaii. Do Hawaii RTL owners get a special discount from the dealership when they buy their trucks?

Oh, that's not a good thing.

On the new Accord (maybe just the top trims), XM comes preinstalled with the little shark antenna on the roof and 3 months free service. But the cars now come with a 6 disc MP3 player which is A LOT of music (~70 hrs) before I would have to change a disc.

I do enjoy only about 3 channels of XM, so not sure if I will pay for it or not when the freebie expires as I have A LOT of music on my computer that I can burn.

My current/first XM radio subscription (cost me $77) is slated to expire on April 16th. I decided to call XM customer service a couple of days ago and advise them that I wanted to let my subscription expire. I told them how much I liked XM, but I didn't think it was worth $142/year. I did tell them that I would consider extending it another year if I could get it for $77 again. The service rep had me hold for about ten seconds, and then came back to advise that they would renew me for another year for that price. It was way too easy!!
