Alternative to Dynolock for Torza Hardtop

I've been spending the last 3 months filtering through thousands of posts on tonneaus and now I realize I need a flip cover - a rolling cover will take up too much bedroom and would prevent me from carrying what I need to carry. The Bakflip G2 is locking, and I could rig a cheap homemade tailgate lock from the inside, but I've read a lot of bad reviews. However, the Torza Hard Premier has gotten great reviews, but as far as I've read, there's no security to it. Is this correct? If so, are there any alternatives to Dynolock, because I don't feel comfortable with that difficult a modification to secure my the bed. Thanks so much!

There are at least 3 different versions of homemade tailgate locks in the archives. Just check the "Search" function to find them.

I made my own tailgate lock for about $6. Here's the link..... $6 tailgate lock

Pop-n-Lock is in the process of coming out with a manual lock for the tailgate anytime now. (Do a search for the recent threads) Non-electric, just an old fashioned key lock. I have a Torza Hard Hat and this is all I'm waiting for in order to have a secure cargo area.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But the Bakflip doesn't have an external lock. It latches under the side rails, and the tailgate needs to be opened to unlatch it, in the same fashion as the Torza Hard Hat Prem. A cheap homemade tailgate lock from the inside wouldn't work for either of these tonneaus.

What is wrong with the Dynalock? It is an eloquent solution and integrates nicely with the existing electric locking system.

Here's the one I made up. Several people have installed it. It has never failed since it was installed in the 18 months I have used it.

By Popular Demand, the $10 Electric Tailgate Lock

Chris, I'm with you on this one. I know I'm probably steppin' on some toes here, but why would I pay $100 for a tailgate lock, then pay extra $$ for someone to install it. (OK, I'm a real doofus when it comes to installing something like this, so I'd have to pay somebody to do it.) If I can have a tailgate lock for SIX BUCKS (see my post..."$6 tailgate lock"), why would I pay more?? (I had lots of money once...then something happened.)

I was under the impression that the Bakflip could lock from the outside. After all that research too... Well at least that eliminates the Bakflip from my list!
