Do you remember hand cranking tarp for bed?

I'm sure I'm going to mangle this description but here goes. Quite a few years ago I remember watching a commercial on tv. They showed a pickup with a tarp in the bed of a truck and a bunch of things on the tarp and the tarp was connected some how to some sort of hand cranking winch. When you turned the winch, you would be pulling everything off the bed towards the tail of the truck. ie, as you crank you're rolling a load of dirt of the end of he pickup. Does anyone remember this? what it was called? a site? etc.

Re: Do you remember hand cranking tarp for bed?

I have one of those. I bought it about 3 trucks ago. It is the full-size model, so I had to cut about 2 inches off each side to make it fit the Ridgeline. It works well, if the bed has been "Armoralled" before use. If the bed is dirty, it will cause the fabric stick and makes it almost impossible to crank. They sell a pad to put down under the fabric, and one time I used a small plastic tarp underneath it. I've moved a load of dirt with it, and some mulch this Spring.
It straps to the tailgate, the one I have sticks out about 4 inches on each side of the truck, but not enough to matter.

So the post I read that it won't work with the Ridgeline isn't true? Is it possable that the smaller one wouldn't work?

I have the doubl-mat from Loadhander for $55 (with shipping). It's double sided and so far has worked fine. The loadhandler itself didn't work because of the design of the Ridgeline (handle wouldn't clear the side and was too low because the tailgate is lower than the sides.) I think of this as my SUV with a bed - bought it for mulching, light hauling, & traveling with the dogs. Love it."

Re: Do you remember hand cranking tarp for bed?

The rod that moves the fabric is fitted into a 2-inch tall plastic frame that sits on top of the tailgate, so there is plenty of room. Straps hold the rod frame onto the tailgate. Mine, being the full-size on, sticks out past the edge of the fender, so using the handle isn't a problem. I would suspect the smaller one is built using the same rod and brackets. Maybe they put it on wrong??
