AVS bug deflector install question

tried to do research on this but couldnt find anything. i bought a new AVS bug deflector off of ebay it should come tomorrow but yesterday i was installing the window vents and decided to look at the hood to see how hard it would be, the instructions for the AVS deflector say that i have to push something into the holes i see a few holes but most of them are covered up by weather stripping (i think thats what it is) do i remove the weather stripping install the deflector and put it back or can i work around it??

oh and any advise on how to get out of the debt i building modding this truck??

Re: AVS bug deflector install question

Check out these instructions for installing the bug deflector. I'm not sure it's the same deflector you have but I'm sure the install is the same or close.

http://www.handa-accessories.com/rid...rdeflector.pdf

As for getting out of debt, good luck with that one.

They do have a triangle thing at the bottom - that's what holds them in . And they can be a pain to pop out. I used a pair of pliers and a flathead screwdriver. Once I pried the clip out a bit, I grabbed the end with the pliers and pulled them out. I had to get ugly and swear a bit, but they finally came out. Don't worry about breaking these clips, they are replaced with the new clips that comes with your deflector.

Dang after reading the rest of these instructions, I'm sure glad I purchased the one from Burtman Industries. It seems like a lot easier to install.

i couldnt buy Burtman i had to go cheap and bought an AVS off of ebay for $40 they have instruction on stylintruck.com but they suck http://www.stylintrucks.com/parts.aspx?attribute_value_string|Brand=AVS&select ed_prod_ids=2365
they also have a video, but it would be more helpful if it went step by step, and used a ridgeline

Re: AVS bug deflector install question

Slide a needle nose pliers between the button and hood and finesse it out. Don't be surprised if you have trouble getting the securing screws in place. I found it best to leave about an 1/8th of an inch of screw visable, pushed in the anchor then pushed, rather then screw in the screw. In a word that hardware sucks.
