Re: Side mirror turn signal

somewhat off topic, but am considering doing this so I was looking at the installation instructions which look pretty easy.

On page 11, of the assy guide, it sure looks like the Ridge used to prepare the assy guide has water in the cabin. Looks like my first one.

Re: Side mirror turn signal

I finished my install today. The directions provided were good. I went with the amber colored LEDs to match the current turn signal color scheme. I must say it looks very good. I will take pictures of the final install during the daylight. Thanks again to Burtman Industries for offering this accessory. I've been waiting for this part for more than a year. Now, all I need is a nice tailgate lock that does not jam the mechanism.

I'm just curious, why don't you like the "jam the mechanism" locks? I've had my DIY one now for over a year and it still works fine. There isn't any noticeable wear on the mechanism either.

In any case, there is an emergency method to open the tailgate that doesn't even involve using the handle built in by Honda. To the best of my knowledge cannot be circumvented by any locking mechanism because it is opened by methods not associated with either handle. I don't think that anyone really knows about it but Honda techs. (& me)

Even if someone broke my locking mechanism or physically ripped both handles off, I could still open the tailgate. This "work around" made by Honda really defeats the purpose of any locking mechanism that can be made unless you circumvent the workaround as well.

I was behind a GMC truck the other day and noticed that it had red signals in the mirrors and amber ones in the taillights. I'm looking forward to seeing the pics, day and night if possible, of your all-amber install. I'm also looking forward to the price of these coming down someday, if even for a sale.

Cool Re: Side mirror turn signal

Is there any reprucussions in adding accessories such as turn signal mirrors to a leased ridgeline.

Items like this, no. You could easily leave this item on the truck when you turn it back in, OR, you could reverse the install and put your stock mirrors back on before you turn it in, and sell the used kit on this forum,

EACH MIRROR HAS A RECEIVER THAT CHECKS FOR A SIGNAL FROM THE TRANSMITTER.

TURM SMART MIRRORS CAN BE PURCHASED FROM AUTOANYTHING.COM

Has anyone else tried these wireless "smart mirrors"????
