Funny how there is a small group of us here in PA who have chosen to do this. Might have to do a poll to see if there are others out there who have done it or are planning to.

Re: Wade Hood Deflector - Body Colored

I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out on the Billet Silver. I had a Wade hood deflector on my last truck, it lasted the nine years I owned the truck. It was the dark smoked deflector...If I add a deflector, and the Silver turns out as nice as the others, I might be interested in doing the same.

I see absolutely no reason why it wouldn't look as good. Go for it, RRIDER!

It took all of 20 minutes to install and I think it came out great.
Looks really good. I wonder though, would it be worth the extra cost to paint it black for those of us with black RL's or would the natural dark look close enough to the actual paint? Opinions?

Re: Wade Hood Deflector - Body Colored

In my opinion, swampler, unless you're using a totally clear deflector, the black RL would benefit the most. I think the smoked deflector would look "not quite right" It definitely is not a color match.

Re: Wade Hood Deflector - Body Colored

Pizza dude, the smoke vent visors look darn close to the same color as the paint, which is why I asked. Wasn't planning on doing the bug shield, but that painted one looks so darned good...

Re: Wade Hood Deflector - Body Colored

Gee, swampler, do you really think so? That black is really a sharp looking and reflective color, I'd hate to hide some of it behind a smoked deflector. The vent visors are mounted over tinted glass so I think it wouldn't be as obvious as the deflector would be. But, that's just me.

Any other opinions out there?

jch found the Clear Wade for $35.50 plus shipping. You should be able to keep the total price with painting to around $100.00, which is basically the same price as the OEM.
I think the black RL would look really good with a perfectly color-matched deflector. I also like the look of the Wade better than the OEM. It fits really well with the lines of the truck.

Re: Wade Hood Deflector - Body Colored

Here's pix of my Silver Ridge with the Wade deflector painted body color on the back side. This thing turned out fantastic! It looks like a custom piece of the truck, not something bolted to the front. I'm very please. Thanks again guys for the idea. I'll post details tomorrow when I have more time.
