Ordered the Doppler Radar backup sensors

Ok, I broke down and ordered the trailer hitch mount doppler radar backup sensor. I got sick of my cheapo $99 wireless backup sensors I installed as they just give too many false beeps backing out of my driveway everyday because of it's slope so I've grown immune to the beeps. I get them in a week so I'll post pics and a report when installed.

Re: Ordered the Doppler Radar backup sensors

As one with a rear camera only, I must say that the camera doesn't serve the same function as the backup sensors.

The camera is great when parking or hitching a trailer or backing up in tight spaces.

For reversing in larger parking lots, etc. I find that looking through the back window gives me a better sense of my surroundings, but when I do that I can't see what is directly behind the truck.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the sensors.

I'm looking forward to your pictures and report. I wonder if the radar will remind me that I have a trailer behind be when I back up. Sounds dumb but half the pick-ups around here have the back finders bent in.

Don't you have to take out the radar to use the trailer?

Ya, pretty much if you want to use the hitch as that's where the radar unit slides into. Looks like they made it easy to take on & off so works good for me as I tow a few times a year.
