I met the ScanGauge II head tech guy

So I've been reading a lot of the posts regarding the ScanGauge II. I determined that it was a good piece of equipment to have, and at a reasonable price. I went online to order one, and noticed that their home office is in Mesa, AZ... a mere 20 miles from home (and even closer to my office). So I called up and asked if I could just pick one up and not have to wait for shipping... which probably only would have been one day anyway.

Long story short, I met Ron, the head tech dude over there and he was really nice. He told me how well the ScanGauge II's work on Honda's, and I think I even saw someone had emailed him a few times on a different post. For any Arizona locals who want to stop in, they are on Dobson, just South of Baseline Rd on the West side of the street in the Dover Shores office complex, suite 800. I can't wait to plug in my new ScanGauge II on the way home!

I exchanged email with Ron Delong, is that the same guy? He was very helpful and gave me the group buy price. I wish that it would calculate the avg mpg and keep it until reset.

A few of us had to do a 3% increase in the speed settings. My milegage on the Scangauge was always about 10 miles off with the tripometer( affected the MPG display) . Ron knows about it, as he gave me the instructions on how to set it. Ask him if they fixed that

I'm still tinkering with all the different screens on the scangauge, and haven't even filled up yet to get the thing to calculate mileage properly. Next time I swing by I'll ask Ron if there will ever be any kind of firmware updates or a USB interface.

Hi rocky,
If I'm not mistaken, I remember seeing mention of the USB interface becoming available this month. SG seems to have changed their website and now I see no mention of it at all. I'd be interested in any info about the USB interface you can get from Ron. I'll be watching the thread. Thanks.
As far as the firmware updates go, I think Ron mentioned in an email that they would provide updates as they became available. (But the SGII would have to be shipped back and forth...)
I just noticed on their website that there is an SGII retailer about 30 miles from here... I'll call them to see about any info they have, if any at all.

Hey guys... I haven't been down there yet, but I will soon enough. I'll get back to you once I can get the information we're wondering about. Sorry for the delay!
