I really like it! I was just confused on the names & the new guard info being posted in the G.Tech thread... but it makes sense now, since most of the great guard info is in this thread!

I'm not able to install it today. So, a few more days of it sitting in my living room! The wife is just ecstatic about that!

Ok, more than a few days, but I finally got it installed (along with the fog lights). Just a so-so picture form the cell phone, when I'm not so tired and hurting, I'll clean it up and snap some better pictures.

It looks great! I like the black vs the chrome.

Now please unconfuse me. Is it the Burtman one or another? If another, how much and whate/where did you get it.

Thanks much!

The one I got is the new guard from Jason@Burtman, it's a SteelCraft. From what I understand the g.tech was made in China and there are problems getting it now. The SteelCraft is made in the US, and is the one that Jason is selling now.

It's quality is Awesome! Fit is perfect, and looks great!!!

Re: G. Tech brush guard master picture & info thread

Thanks for clarifying that. It's on my wish list. Fathers day and my anniversary is coming up. I wonder if my wife would take the hint?

Thanks,

Larry

Correct. You are getting a nicer guard with a warranty now.
The original guard was a replica made in China. We now have the original version, not a copy, which is made in the USA! This guard now comes with a 5 year warranty on the black version, and a lifetime on the polished version! The welds are nicer, the powerdercoat is better, fit is like a glove, and is has a warranty that the old one never had! Others are still selling the China replica, but we are selling the original for a price that's still unbelievable.

($150+) in shipping and handling that shows up only after you're almost done with your order. The total puts it in line with the other products out there that offer free shipping.
Jason said it's all a game - add the shipping in and then ship for free or visa-versa and he is probably right. Either way you're going to spend close to $500 for the guard depending upon where you live. Shipping to a residence (rather than a business) adds another $40, although Jason said to call him about that and he may be able to waive that fee.
I guess it all comes down to the quality of the unit. Jason says the black powder coat is over stainless steel although the site description does not state that. He said he will change the wording.
So any other guards out there with mileage on them? How are they holding up? I hear the Aries unit is not aging so well.....
I was talking with Jason this morning. I live in Cali and these come out of Southern Cali (Corona, CA.) He worked with them and they are able to allow FREE pick-up at the distribution location. That makes this affordable for me!! I'm in Northern Cali and now just have to combine pick-up with my summer vacation. The thought of installing it right on the premises is appealing - but I'd want an experienced ROC buddy to lend a hand!!

Alternatively - any Southern California ROC members heading north to the Santa Cruz area want to deliver and help set up? I'll help with gas, beer and a great steak!

Re: G. Tech brush guard master picture & info thread

My cousin is visiting from Australia. She had never seen a Ridgeline & commented that mine looked like a "proper" Aussie "ute" right down to the "roo bar." I had to ask her to repeat it before I caught on.

"Roo bar" is as good a name for the thing as any, methinks.
