Does anyone disable thier moonroof controls for the winter so as not to inadvertantley operate the moonroof and rip out frozen seals and / or the motor ??

It doesn't get that cold in St. Andrews. 35 below tops and maybe a bit of wind chill on top of it. Maybe you could put a switch inline, or pop a fuse.

It's been 10+years since I left there and I really can't recall what other folks did in the winter about sun/moon roofs.

In addition to the Ridgeline we currently have 3 vehicles with moonroofs. The GMC I traded in on the RL had a power moonroof...I've never inadvertently opened the moonroof in the winter. FWIW I have never hit the moonroof switch accidently on any of the vehicles we've had with moonroofs.

Going through the trouble of disabling the moonroof in the winter, IMO is going too far. I haven't looked in the owner's manual..but pulling the fuse MIGHT ?? disable something else too.

That's the last thing on my mind in the winter. No need to open the moonroof in the winter. Unless you live in the tropics
