Enabling Security Alarm

Hi all. Searched with "security" and "alarm" but couldn't find this question:

Can the owner enable/disable the security alarm system? If so, how (or where can I find instructions)? Mine is off and I can't find anything in the manual (or the forums) for turning it on.

Mine is off and I can't find anything in the manual (or the forums) for turning it on.Why do you think yours is off? It arms automatically and can't be disabled, as far as I know. It won't enable if the hood, trunk, or a door is open. It also takes 30 seconds to arm.

Hopefully this will not get too involved but here we go.
After you get out of your Ridgeline lock the doors from the switch on the drivers door and close the door.
If your alarm doesn't arm try looking at the door ajar indicator on the dashboard. See if one of the door sensors are showing that a door is open. Mine has shown several times that one of the doors are open and would not let the alarm set. It doesn't do any good to keep slamming the door. Try unlocking the door and turn the key to accessory, off again and again try to set the alarm.
If you have a door jar alarm active on the dashboard the doors will lock but the alarm will not set.
If you don't have a door ajar warning light and the alarm doesn't arm try checking the fuse (s) if everything seems OK I would say it's time to have the dealer look at it. GOOD LUCK
