Ok, so nothing is posted out here for hurricane alley. Hello? Hello? Anyone around? I see that Florida is having gatherings and I am dying as I moved just before they started those things.
I am in Baton Rouge, LA, essentially at the intersection of I-10 and I-12.
I want to get some meet & greets going. Is there anyone interested in LA? MS? AL?
djeaux 09-29-2006, 02:24 PM I mentioned "Cruisin' the Coast" over here in the Mississippi Disaster Zone as a possibility if anyone's interested. The link to their site is in this forum area. It cranks up next week.
The paper today said they're expecting over 1,000 street rods for the various events & the only real glitch is that the bridges over Bay St. Louis & Biloxi Bay are out, so there will be a lot of street rods running up to I-10 to get between Hancock, Harrison & Jackson County sites.
There is a mega swap meet at the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. I think that one has a $20 admission. Next Friday, Charlie Daniels will be doing a FREE concert at the park in Pascagoula. There are also events at the various casinos.
If anybody wants to try to put together a mini-meet & sit around say the Edgewater Mall ogling the 1932 Deuce Coupes, let me know...

I could definitely swing the golf clubs. I used to be pretty good (~83-85) so am guessing that I could shoot below 95 without too much difficulty. Even if I have to leave the driver in the bag. hahaha

The road work I am referring to is the work being done to the local road off the interstate into the Abita Springs area. The last time I went there it was terrible:mad: and the traffic backup was even worse:mad: :mad:
I will check with a friend of mine who lives over there and see what the conditions are.

Dunno anything about the roadwork, as I haven't been west (or south) of Slidell since 8-29-05. But I do know that I'll end up being the D.D. if my wife goes with me ;)
I'm heading to New Orleans, French Quarter tomorrow in the Ridge. Taking the parents down there to do the tourist thing. I'll be parking at a safe place, I hope, safe as in minus door dings. :) gotta stay away from other vehicles as much as possible :rolleyes:
