We have not done these for quite a while because of several reasons, but namely because we are looking for multiple, high-quality pics of your truck and we also need you to provide information about it. Most of the winners we contacted didn't have high-quality pics or there was some other issue similar to that. Sometimes we didn't hear back from them.

Regardless, I'm revamping the way this works so we can get this back up and rolling again soon. So, thanks for your patience and stay tuned!

Stay tuned for details. We have to come up with an easy way for all to participate. Threads can get very long and cluttered, but they are a good way to show photos.

I'll put up some details soon after I can give this more thought.

T Mac,

Create a user FTP directory with a specific login/password for those that pm you and have approval for being entered into the running. This will allow us to upload large pic files that you can retrieve. After the submission dead line, you can change the login information for the next months running.

I think this would give you the best control and also allow for greater size files that would normally be rejected by email servers and the message board limits.

Only thing is, I have zero restrictions on mail because it's my mail server. The issue is not file sizes or FTP...it's that most every time we chose a winner, the winner either did not get back to us with the details to go with their listing or they only had small, low quality images...stuff like that.

I think we probably need to build up a pool of valid candidates who provide us the detail about their trucks in advance (rather than after they are selected) and up to X amount of high-quality pics also in advance. This may still be an issue, but at least we'll know this way before selecting them and then scramblign around trying to get what we need in the final week prior to launching this.

We worked really hard on this and finally gave up on both the ROC and EOC for a while because it just didn't work. So, I appreciate all of the suggestions because I certainly want this reinstated and I want to make this easy for candidates and those of us who put the winner info online. In the end, I want to have monthly winners and even print up an ROC calendar that features winners from the previous year or something like that. That would be cool. Again, that's why we need high-quality images with the trucks in a nice setting.

Keep the feedback coming and stay tuned. Thanks!

here is my idea. Set out criteria for ROTM with specific submission requirements, after you have a number of those with all the info and pics you need, then pick a different one each month, post it and then notify them they have won.

Yeah, we probably need to get enough info and valid pics for severa months at a time. We were going month-to-month and giving winners about two weeks to send in their info. Some had it but several did not and then we're stuck waiting and ultimately that month slips by and then the next and the next.

Again, keep the suggestions coming. Thanks.

Gathering a pool of submissions with all the appropriate data/photos ahead of time sounds like the best option for the admins. And gives prospective winners all the time they need to become serious competitors (for a very friendly and good natured competition, of course )

Hey T Mac
since I am not familar with Ridgeline of the month, and by the way I think you are doing a great job with this, how are they picked? Do other RL owners vote you in or do you nominate yourself?

I also would like to know how long the RL on the club home page stay there and how do they earn the right to be nominated to be there?

Tony - no open voting because it just gets too complicated.

The trucks on the home page have been there for a while (a long while) but will be gone whenever my designer FINALLY gets the new design done that I've been waiting on for months now. That's been the big holdup on most of this.

No open voting, so you and you team decide who is RL of the Month? That work for me. Also do we send you quality picture that we have and you go through them and them decide who gets the honors?

No open voting is good, would be too hard. I say you include me in the vooting and then we could have a vote to see who gets a vote.:)

Or heck, just let me choose.:D

All prospective entires please send you paypal donations to....
