Howdy

I have the 07 RTX with the regular radio with CD. I found that the CD player will accept and play CD-R, and CD-RW audio in CDA format. What I would like to do, is to play MP3 music on a CD. I have tried mp3 on CD-R and CD-RW without sucess.

I have a couple of really cheap portable CD players that will play most any mp3 audio and I thought that this more expensive Honda play should do the same. Is there any trick to getting it to play mp3 on a CD?

I have tried using a play list in the *.m3u format, but no luck.
I have tried *.mp3 native audio without a play list, but no luck.

Any idea what format this Honday CD player will take? Shirely it will do something :-)

thanks
tommy

Nope...won't play .mp3 encoded disks. Good question though.

Does suck that it won't play them. I was used to playing them in my last vehicle thru a moderately-priced Sony player. I dunno if the RTX has an AUX jack, but my RTL does, and I've been thinkin' of picking-up one of those "cheap" portables that play mP3's and try to route it thru the input on the dash. Might sound "adequate".

A direct connect using the AUX jack should sound good. I think the ranking from best to worst is AUX jack, tape adapter and FM modulator. Of course, all of this is subjective. But I agree that Honda should have integrated an HU that had the ability to play .mp3 encoded disks.

Well thats a pooooo. Sure seems cheap to not include it, oh well. The rest of the RTX is a great machine.

Yep, I noticed the radio has an Aux button, did they use the same radio unit simply missing some components. Gosh, that sounds a lot like the computer world.
